Accessibility Statement
We want families, volunteers, and visitors with disabilities to be able to use this website.
Our accessibility goal
We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA as a goal for ongoing improvements. This website has not yet had a comprehensive accessibility audit. We therefore cannot claim that every page currently conforms to WCAG 2.2 Level AA or meets all applicable accessibility requirements. This statement is not a certification.
What we have reviewed
On October 13, 2026, a focused engineering review checked public pages and key journeys with automated accessibility checks, keyboard use, reflow at a 320 CSS-pixel viewport, and Windows forced-colors mode emulated in Chromium. It included the rotating homepage photos and pause control, North Pole Buddy, forms, navigation, gallery, and virtual-visit choice. Forced-colors checks specifically covered public navigation, the homepage pause/play control, the family request form, North Pole Buddy, the gallery lightbox, and this statement.
A separate public-content check inspected page landmarks, heading order, image descriptions, navigation, and the gallery dialog in Chromium 152 on Linux, including true browser zoom at approximately 200% and 400% and an enlarged browser default-font setting. NVDA with Firefox and VoiceOver with Safari were not available, and no human screen-reader test was performed on the public pages. This was not a comprehensive audit: not every page or interaction has received a complete manual review.
Synthetic virtual-visit tests reviewed keyboard focus, control names, status semantics, and separate camera and microphone denial-and-retry states. These tests simulate the room provider and do not exercise native permission prompts, physical devices, or an actual screen reader. The Daily live service is not connected, and no physical iOS Safari or Android Chrome test device was available for this review. Input-device and front/rear camera switching were not tested; the room currently has no device selector. No browser, operating-system, or screen-reader combination has yet been verified for the live room, including Safari with VoiceOver, Chrome with NVDA, Edge with Narrator, or mobile VoiceOver and TalkBack.
